Lanikai oceanfront estate sells for $14.5M, second-highest price on Oahu in 2021
An oceanfront estate in Lanikai sold for $14.5 million to an unnamed buyer on Thursday, marking the second-highest amount fetched for a single-family home on Oahu this year.
The five-bedroom, home with six and a half baths at 1528 Mokulua Drive spans 6,076 square feet and features lanai views directly at the Mokulua Islands. It was built with steel frames on the 20,791-square-foot lot in 2018.
Patty Bell of Carvill Sotheby’s International Realty, who represented the buyers, said her client is a family with local ties wanting to come back home to the Islands.
“The combination of quality new construction and ambiance resonated with the buyers,” Bell told Pacific Business News. “The property offers indoor/outdoor living, it is well suited for spending quality time with family.”
The home includes a lanai of 1,263 square feet and a garage of 621 square feet. There is an office, gym, pool and spa.
The seller was Global Spring Management Hawaii LLC, which purchased the property in 2012 for $5.1 million.
Another oceanfront estate in Lanikai was listed as a high sales on Oahu this year — a $24.4 million transaction in July.
“Lanikai continues to be a special place that captures the idyllic Hawaiian lifestyle,” Bell said. “This shows in the market’s continued support of the neighborhood.”
The Oahu luxury home market saw sales more than triple in the first half of 2021 compared to that time in 2020. Statewide, more homes sold for more than $10 million in the first half of the year than the last two years combined.
